Today, we went canoeing at the Bellbrook Canoe Rental. We all had a blast. It was a pretty long canoe trail, or at least it felt like it. The best part of the day was when a group of us went on the rope swing. That was seriously so much fun! I went on it twice, and I want to go back and do it more. It was such a thrill. While I was on the water, I stopped and listened to all the noises around us. I heard a lot of birds, and one of my favorite birds that I heard was a woodpecker. It makes such a distinct noise when it's pecking the wood. I also saw a total of five turtles, and some of them were pretty big! We also wrote a recipe poem. Here's mine...
To make an ocean you need millions of gallons of salty water
In order to balance out the salty water you need thousands of species of fish and other animals
You can't forget the billions and billions grains of sand that you need at the shore
The most important factor are the thousands of rays of sunshine that spill down from the sky
And once you mix in all the ingredients there's one more "secret" ingredient that you need
Add in just a teaspoon of happiness, no more and no less

Kayaking Adventures
Today was so much fun! We went Kayaking at Eastwood MetroPark. I had never been kayaking before today, but I've been White Water Rafting two times, and I've been canoeing many times. Kayaking is a whole different playing field. A kayak is much smaller than a canoe, and it wobbles much more. I thought I was going to tip my kayak, but luckily I didn't. Kayaks are easy to move since they're light-weight, but it also hurts your arms and shoulders a lot. After we went kayaking, we went on a hike on the Buckeye Trail. My favorite part of the day was when we went kayaking because it was action packed, and something I have never experienced before. I definitely plan on going kayaking with my family soon. Here are some cool pictures from today.

What to take on the hike?
Today in class, we did an activity with a partner. We made up a hiking route, and all of the things that we would bring with us. Our location for the hike was the Buckeye Trail, and we planned on hiking 210 miles within 2 weeks. A list of all the items we planned on taking is below. I learned that when you are planning something as big as a 210 mile hike, it takes a lot of commitment. You really have to think about all of the factors that go into it. Even the smallest things, like matches or some rope, will really help you when you're out in the wild.

Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm
Today, we went to Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm. It was so, so, so much fun! First, we go to look at animals such as snakes, and turtles. I really enjoyed that! Then, we went on a hike. We saw all kinds of beautiful birds, and we even saw a deer. After that, we went to the farm and saw all the animals. Their was goats, pigs, sheep, and horses. I love animals, so it was really fun to go to the farm. After we came back from Aullwood we worked on a Meditation Script for the rest of the day. I knew right away that I wanted to write about the beach because I love going to the beach.
Here is my Meditation Script:
You are sitting cross-legged on the beach, facing the waves. The sun providing a calming warmth. The sand underneath you tickling your damp skin. You can hear the soft laughter of your family as they run through the ocean water. As you take a deep breath through your mouth, you can taste the salty air on your tongue. You open your eyes and look out at the deep blue ocean. As you are admiring the water, you notice dolphins jumping in and out of the water, teasing each other. You look to your left and watch your family as they build sand castles. You lay back onto the plush sand, and slowly close your eyes, allowing the warm sun to make you sleepy. As you lay back, feeling the sun on your face, and the soft sand beneath you, you drift off into a deep sleep, surrounded by your loving family, and the place you cherish the most.

My time at Delco Park...
Today, we walked to Delco Park. It was lots of fun! Even though it was pretty hot, I had my friends with me. When we go to Delco, we rested a bit, and then we did an activity called "Small World". We chose a small area in the park that wasn't man made (so basically a small square of grass), and we studied it. First from standing up, then from crouching, and then from laying down. I observed different types of things, such as grass, clover, and dandelions. I learned from this activity that everything looks different when you're looking at it up close, and this can be anything, not just plants. This can be people, animals, or any object. This is especially related to people because you might think you know everything about someone, but if you look close enough, you'll find that their are so many more things that you can learn about someone. Overall, I had a really fun day at Delco Park, and I learned a lot!
